Go-OO: an OpenOffice revisited edition

Go-OO, stands probably for Go Open Office, it's based on the original OpenOffice but it adds new interesting features and improvements then the basic version developed by Sun.


First of all it supports all Microsoft Office extensions like .docx, .pptx and .xlsx and they can be loaded without any problem. Another important feature is the inclusion of SVG and the support for Microsoft Works.

Also improved the interoperability with Excel, the support for VBA macros, enhanced EMF and Grid rendering. For Linux users the coolest characteristic is that it will allow 3D presentation building and the integration of Gstreamer.

Do not expect a look change... A negative note is that the application cannot be installed if on the pc is present a new version of OpenOffice.
