How to avoid you hard disk running endless

Defragmentation: How to avoid you hard disk running endlessRemember that the computer bottleneck is ALWAYS the hard disk... You badly need to have it fully optimized!

Especially if you have a non-unix based system then you should really think about hard disk optimization... That's because windows file system get "fragmented" in a really short time. It's like having your own desk messed up when you are trying to find something... it can become a real problem!

To avoid your hard drive running endless you just have to arrange it... How? It's easy! You must download, install and use a whatever "disk defragmentation" utility but not the windows one, because it really sucks! Here you are a my personal list:

1) Diskeeper: This is the best defragmentation software I know, I really like it and it never failed me... Anyway it's not a freeware, you can actually try a Demo version or... Read a my old post!

2) Perfect Disk: This one is really good too... It has more defragmentation methods but it takes longer then the Diskeeper. It also is a non-free software!

3) Auslogics Disk Defrag: This is a FREE program! It has good reviews but I personally never tried it! You can give it a chance =D

These utilities are very easy to use, each one has an intuitive interface: just find a "defrag now" button and you are done! If you need any further help, just post a comment and I will be happy to help you out :)

Its true that the HDD is the weakest link in the data chain. Not defragmenting can lead to drive problems sooner than later and cost unnecessary upgrades. Defragging regularly helps keep the drives stress free and prevents overheating, lags etc. Among defragmenters, Diskeeper would get my vote too.
