Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI)

2 commenti
Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI)Sony, Samsung, Motorola, Hitachi and Sharp are working together on the WHDI: a new short range wireless MIMO transmission technology intended to replace cables between video sources and televisions and other displays. it will be the next generation standard for wireless connectivity like audio-video, controllers and multi-room... it will allow to transfer High Definition films without any cable! This standard is coming out soon, in the near 2009 and we will have only to check for the WHDI logo on LCD TV, projectors, CD/DVD, computers, consoles, amplifiers and so on!

Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI)It provides a high-quality, uncompressed wireless link which can support delivery of equivalent video data rates of up to 3Gbit/s (including uncompressed 1080p) in a 40 MHz channel in the 5 GHz unlicensed band, conforming to FCC regulations. Equivalent video data rates of up to 1.5Gbit/s (including uncompressed 1080i and 720p) can be delivered on a single 20 MHz channel in the 5 GHz unlicensed band, conforming to worldwide 5 GHz spectrum regulations. Range is beyond 100 feet (30 m), through walls, and latency is less than one millisecond.

I don't know what you think about, but I'm merely scared about the "Electromagnetic Pollution":

"Strong electromagnetic fields (EMFs) of about 50 to 60 cycles per second (hertz, or Hz) and the related electromagnetic radiation (EMR) are harmful to us. Long-term exposure may aggravate any existing health problems or diseases and may cause or intensify especially lack of energy or fatigue, irritability, aggression, hyperactivity, sleep disorders and emotional instability. Increasing numbers of individuals are becoming hypersensitive to EMR; many can feel the electricity going through the body and may experience disabling symptoms such as convulsions, memory problems and depression."

I wouldn't be happy to be affected by erectile dysfunction just because I don't wanna see a cable behind my TV...!!!

Digital Wallet: Keep your passwords safe but easy to access

1 commenti
Digital Wallet: Keep your passwords safe but easy to accessHow many passwords do you need to remember? Are you able to remember them all?! Well, if you are not a cyborg (like me lol...) then you badly need this piece of software...! Its name is "eWallet" and it's a digital wallet that can contain all your passwords keeping them safe, but easy for you to access when you need them!
Using government-level (FIPS) 256-bit AES encryption, eWallet protects your personal information from falling into the wrong hands and you are no more forced to choose weak passwords just because they are easy to remember. It has some built-iDigital Wallet: Keep your passwords safe but easy to accessn tools to avoid keylogger and other malwares tracking your passwords! eWallet anyway it's not free but I think that 10$ won't hurt anyone... If you want, give a look at this article: "YouSerials & YouTorrent".

Another important feature is the customization... You can create the look you want with custom icons, card backgrounds, and over 30 pre-built card templates. Or save your own templates to get the design you need.

The software works on Windows Mobile if you got a Pocket PC, on iPhone and iPod Touch, on Palm OS, on BlackBerry but it's not compatible with Symbian mobiles... Too bad I have a Nokia N70!

The Perfect Woman

2 commenti
The Perfect WomanUh Oh! I know what you are thinking: Does it really exist?!! Well, that's an easy answer.... NO!!!!! But you must continue reading this article because it's so interesting. The Perfect Woman will be an AI Robotics creation; it's a robot with the aspect of a woman that is able to do everything you want. The main feature of this cyborg is called "RKS technology", based on man's 3 main senses: the sense of touch, the sense of sight and the sense of hearing. Here you are the details directly from their website:

"The sense of touch: Lisa's surface is covered by thousands of micro-sensors. Each of these sensors has a special function. Some measure temperature, others register proximity and touch. The data of each sensor alone is not very helpful, but combined all the gathered bits of information provide valuable results. By analysing the temperate and touch sensors' data Lisa can for example distinguish her proprietor from other people."

"The sense of hearing: RKS technology is based on technologies for the interpretation of collected data (ICD). The hearing sense is mostly created through vocal recognition. Sound sensors are located near the ears and send the arriving signals to the on-board computer which then analyses the data. These sensors register the tonality and the amplitude. They also split the signals into syllables just like vocal recognition programmes do. Like for the sense of touch it is the combination of these pieces of information that allows for augmented use. By associating tonality, amplitude and syllable recognition Lisa is for example able to distinguish between different tones of voice (question, excitement, sorrow…)"

"The sense of sight: Lisa possesses 2 micro cameras that are directly connected to her internal computer. Through these 2 cameras she can register large amounts of information simultaneously and for example follow the movements of objects or recognize certain people. This works like this: first the "scene" is divided into several levels – foreground, background etc."

Watch these videos too!
The first one is a TV Documentary:

The second one is a testimonial interview:

If you want more informations about the Perfect Woman, go to the AI Robotics website!
I couldn't find the price... So, if you are going to order one for yourself (or as a christmas gift for your best friend!) let me know! To be honest, as an italian boy, I will never stop loving real girls even if they are "sometimes" so ******* ******!!!! =D

Use a mobile to find your location without a GPS

1 commenti
At first glance it seems impossible to be able to find your location without a GPS... But the explanation is very easy to understand: internet. Yes, you can actually do it only if you got an internet connection on your mobile! I'm speaking about a software able to calculate your position by considering the three nearest antennas around you and using the "triangulation principle". So I think it will works better if you are in a city.

This interesting program is still a BETA and was created by Google as a Google Maps addon, its name is "My Location". The most important thing is that it's absolutely FREE! You can download the full package at the following link: Google Maps & My Location.
If you have a GPS then you can also use it without the internet connection...

At this time, My Location (beta) is available for these devices:
  • BlackBerry devices
  • Some recent Motorola devices
  • Some recent Sony Ericsson devices
  • Many Windows Mobile devices
  • Symbian UIQ and Series 60 3rd Edition devices
If you have a Java-enabled (J2ME) device, BlackBerry or Windows Mobile device, you can easily check whether or not My Location (beta) is available. Just go to "Help" > "About" from the application. If the box contains "myl: N/A," it means your device isn't reporting a cell, and your location may not be available.

If you try it let me know what's your opinion!

Calculate websites revenue from Google AdSense

0 commenti
Would you like to know how much will you earn with your website using Google AdSense? Or are you just curious to estimate how much earn a whatever site? Well, now, you can do it with a simple click thanks to a russian website: AdSense Meter!

How to calculate revenue from Google AdSense
It works together with Alexa statistics and makes an average revenue from Google AdSense based on the traffic rank generated by that specific target... Unfortunately it doesn't work with websites that are not in the "Top 100.000".

I must say it... The calculated revenue isn't that accurate but it's always interesting in my opinion! As my first experiment I have typed inside the box "google.com" and the result was "
$38 307 240"... I through that I wouldn't get a higher value but I was wrong... I ve typed in "yahoo.com" and this is the outcome: "$50 708 916"!

Have fun and let me know what you think about...

Test your web design in different browsers

5 commenti
Have you made a new design for your website and would like to know how it appears using different browsers like Mozilla Firefox 2/3, Internet Explorer 6/7/8, Opera 9/9.5, Safari 3.1/4 etc...? That's because each browser use a different way to render a web page and so maybe that while is everything ok with Firefox, it isn't using IE!

So here you are a FREE and FAST solution: BrowserShots! You just need to type your website address inside the box and it will makes a "screenshot" using every single browser known to date!

How to download songs from YouTube

2 commenti

Hi,

Today I'm gonna give you this little tip before going to sleep... =D
If you can't use any p2p software for some reasons (servers are down, can't find that song, you are at work and you are not allowed to use such programs or even because some internet companies forbid use of p2p network...) then maybe this is the right trick for ya ;)

It is really simply to do... Here what we have to do:

1) Go to YouTube and search the video music of the song you like

2) Copy the internet address, it should be like this "http://youtube.com/watch?v=WVQZeWoWVng"

3) Now you have to go to this website: KeepVid. It allows you to simply download a streaming video from any source, like Google Video or YouTube, using only the proper address... So in that box you must paste the copied link to the video music and download it.
How to download song from YouTube4) Now that you have the video file you have to extract the music, don't panic it's easy!!! To do so, just download this light & FREE utility: AoA Audio Extractor. The interface is very "user friendly", you shouldn't have any problem!

How to find everything on the internet

0 commenti
How to find everything on the internetSo if you are here that's because you want to know how and where to find everything you are searching for... Well, let's just start from something that everyone know: Peer To Peer (P2P) softwares! There are just tons of those P2P programs for example WinMx, eMule, eDonkey, Kazaa, DC++ and so on... They are really similar each other but in my honest opinion the best one is eMule, it's the most famous and then there are much more people and that means much more files shared!
If don't have it then you have to go to the eMule website and download it... If you want to "go pro" there are some tweaked versions and maybe the best one is the eMule eXtreme Mod. Here you have some details about the modification:

How to find everything on the interneteMule eXtreme Main Features:

- Maella Bandwidthcontrol, caculates the real Overhead
 - NAFC (network adapter feedback control)
- advanced Uploadbandwidththrottler with adjustable slotspeed
- Xtreme Downloadmanager for a clever source-handling
- improved Xtreme-Creditsystem
- Powerrelease with dynamic Hide OS
- IP to country - show country-flags
- Dynamic Leecher Protection (DLP)
- Multi-threaded disc access with threading-queue
- Universal plug and play support (UPNP) for routers
- hundrets of code improvements

These P2P software are all "user friendly" and you should not have any problem using them... Just follow the wizard and you are done! The true pain come when after hours of downloading you realize that the file isn't what you wanted (usually it's a fake like a porno or something...), but don't worry at all! To solve this little inconvenient just read this other article "How to avoid fakes from eMule".

How to find everything on the internetIf eMule and any other of those P2P networks aren't enough and you can't find what you are searching for then you can try this sharing system: Torrents! Basically you need to download first a torrent software like uTorrent or Azureus/Vuze I like more the first one because it's just much lighter and easy to use. Once you have installed a Torrent Software then you must visit one of these torrents database:

1) Mininova
2) The Pirate Bay
3) YouTorrent

As you will see there is always a search box, type in the name of your favorite movie/song/file or whatever and press on the "Search" button... Let it load the results list. Now, slow down cowboy! To download the proper torrent you will have to make a good selection... To do so, you must know what "Seed" and "Leechers" mean: the first one is "how many people are currently sharing the torrent" while the second one is "how many people are downloading it". To choose the best torrent you have to check which one has most "Seeders" and eventually less "Leechers".
When you are done click on the link and search for comments, for example if you looking for a movie you would like to know what's the quality before downloading then, sometimes, users use to report it as a comment (like Audio 7 / Video 8). It's pretty useful to avoid "fakes" or dangerous files...

Once download the file ".torrent" just open it with uTorrent or Vuze/Azureus and let the download end...! That's all...

PS: Remember that if you searching for music you can also check this other post "How to download songs from Youtube"! Have fun!

eBid: Better then eBay?

0 commenti
If you are an "eBayer" then you really have to take a look to this quick review about their best rival... So let's read before and comment after! =)

Advantages for Buyers:

Due to the recent massive changes on ebay such as a huge hike in listing fee's, changes to the search that is now in favour of the big boys that ebay have done special deals with, and changes to the feedback system etc, many Ebay sellers have flocked over to Ebid because it is free for them to list. Many sellers pass on these savings to their customers.

Go and look through the many categories on eBid. It is amazing how things that are often bid to impossible prices on Ebay, are selling for a lot lower prices on eBid. So it looks like many buyers are missing out on some fantastic deals, because they think that ebay is the be all and end all.
Ebay was good, back in the old days before Wall Street took over, but eBid is growing day by day and sees more and more new items added and many at bargain prices. The reason for this is because the sellers are being ripped off on ebay.

Advantages for sellers:

  1. The people on the forums are friendly and helpful.
  2. You save lots of money by realistic fees. You do not have to pay listing fees and you only pay 3% final value fees if you are a silver member. Gold subscriptions can be purchased for 7, 30, 90, 365 days or a Lifetime membership can be purchased for £49.99 and this gives free listing fees and free final value fees.
  3. You get up to 6 free eBid shops which are fully customisable.
  4. Listing can be done item by item, or by bulk listing. Ninja listing tool will be available shortly to allow bulk offline listings.
  5. The eBid owners Gazza and Mark are in touch with the sellers and listen to what they have to say" listen to their views and actually implement useful suggestions that are brought up.
  6. There is a genuine sense of community spirit at Ebbed.
  7. A good feature of eBid is the Feedback. There is a "Request Feedback" button that you can use to remind your seller or buyer to leave you feedback. You can also edit what you have said if you were too rash in leaving negative or positive feedback.
  8. eBid listings are optimised for search engines. Google and Yahoo pick up listings very well.
  9. This is my favourite auction site because it has good deals for buyers, provides a cheap listing alternative for sellers and you get a human response to queries!
  10. Unlike eBay your listings are shown on all the eBid sites worldwide.

How to use your mobile phone as a remote computer controller

1 commenti
This work great with a lot of mobile phones... You just need to have some kind of connection like bluetooth, infrared or even wireless on both devices! I have tried with my Nokia N70 using bluetooth and it's really amazing ;)

It's useful if you have a notebook without the original remote controller and you don't want to spend like 25$ for third party one...! So why don't save money and be cool?! =D

To control your computer (desktop or laptop, Windows or Mac) with your mobile phone you just have to download this little utility: Salling Clicker. It is not a free software, you can try the Demo version or look at a my old post "YouSerials and YouTorrent".

First of all you will have to install the software on your PC and then, after selecting the right cell's brand and model, it will generate the setup for the client to put inside your mobile phone! That's all!

Now you can use the client software on your phone to use Windows Media Player, PowerPoint, iTunes... And you can extend those fuctionalities by downloading more scripts from this website: Salling Cliker Scripts.

To install a script you need to put every directory inside the downloaded zip file inside the folder ".../Salling Clicker/Default Scripts/" now you must restart the application and then go to "Open Salling Clicker": just drag and drop scripts from the right column to the left one and you are done!

Personally, since I use Winamp, I have just installed the proper script and it works really good!

Bluetooth connection rocks over the infrared one... You can control your computer being in the kitchen while cooking or while having a shower! (...but don't try it xD)

For any questions just leave a comment and I will try to help you out...

How to optimize Windows Vista

1 commenti
If you need to speed up your currently windows vista installation then you really need to continue reading this article. I will show you some tips that will let your operating system run smoothly... However do not forget that windows vista is RAM hungry! What we are going to do is following this simply guide line step by step:
  • Clean up
  • Tidy up
  • Optimize

- Cleaning up your hard disk means "removing everything is not useful", to do so you need a whatever software like this one: CCleaner. It's very easy, you will just need to select the files you want to remove... Leave everything as it is but check "Advaced" and then "Windows Updates Uninstaller". Click now on "start cleaning" let it finish and you are done.
Now you need to clean up your windows registry from those unused "keys" and once again you should download a whatever program like Registry Cleaner... I suggest you to run CCleaner another time because it's able to clean the registry too! Just go to "Registry", press "Find problems" let it works and then click on "Repair selected..." (choose everything, you can also make a backup copy to be safe...).

- Ok, it's time to set up your computer making a good defragmentation with one of the programs I have already presented in "How to avoid your hard disk running endless"! Pick one from the list and let it do the rest... It's really easy! Remember to defragment your hard disk periodically because windows file system become "messed up" in a short time...

- Now you should optimize Windows Vista... You can actually download and use this little piece of software called "Vista Smoker", it really works give it a shot!
However it isn't a freeware program so you should check this my other post "YouSerials & YouTorrent". This utility is fully automated, once started just press "Auto Tuner" and wait...

You will need to restart your system, after that I suggest you to deactive some unuseful "Services".
Go to start, write down "services" and press "enter", now to halt a service you just need to right click on it, select "Property" and choose "Disabled" from the first drop down menu you can see.
You must stop these services:
  1. Windows Defender, it really sucks... Download another dedicated antivirus like Avira AntiVir, Spybot S&D or NOD32 (this one isn't free by the way...).
  2. Windows Search Indexing, it badly slow down your computer... If you deactive this utility you will ALWAYS be able to search something on your drive like in Windows XP.
  3. Other services that you may not need, like "Tablet PC Input Service", "Parental Control" and "Shadow Copy" (as i said before for windows defender, it's better if you get a dedicated backup software like Norton Ghost!)
Now if you hate that alert message that appear everytime is happening something, then go to Control Panel > User Account > Enable or Disable User Account Control > Uncheck the box and restart your system!

You can also choose to disable the Swap File if you got more then 2gb of RAM... If so, just right click on "Computer" > "Property" > "Advanced System Settings" > click on "Settings" under the "Perfomance" tag > select the "Advanced" tab and click on the "Change" button under "Virtual Memory" > Select "No Paging File" and press "Set". Restart and you are done!

What about Ready Boost?

It's good ONLY if you have less then 1gb of RAM and if you have a fast (and expensive...) external driver (USB keys or SD cards)...!

That's all folks!
Leave a comment if you need help... AleX

PS: I'm not using the english version of Windows Vista so I'm sorry if some paths are not exact!
